Eastern Midterm Break

Waterford Greenway in Ireland

We have seen great numbers of families renting bikes and using our shuttle bus service during the midterm school break. After the heavy snow and bad weather people were excited to get out in the fresh air and discover the Greenway.

The highlight of the greenway for the kids has to be the fairy village that has sprung up at the Ballyvoyle railway tunnel as if the tunnel wasn’t magical enough already kids have taken it upon themselves to bring fairy doors and houses and place them along the Jurassic Park style entrance to the tunnel.

This part of the Greenway is 9km from our bike hire shop in Dungarvan and a good turning point to head back as it’s not very strenuous and largely downhill going back to Dungarvan. Another bonus about this stretch is the fantastic coastal views and wildlife on the causeway.

The Greenway also has lovely play areas and picnic tables which really makes the Waterford Greenway stand out as Ireland’s number one safe and scenic cycleway.
